Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Luminarc Quadro 2-Liter Glass Pitcher with LidCustomer Review: LID WILL LEAK! NOT AIR TIGHT!!! Summary: 1 Stars
With the big concern over plastics recently I decided to replace all mine with glass or stainless steel.
I wanted to use these to mix up my instant teas and got a huge awakening when I went to shake it up and it went everywhere! At that time it also made me realize that these not only are messy but they wouldn't keep fridge flavors out since they are not airtight.
So be warned up front and look for something better than these.
Customer Review: Great water container Summary: 4 Stars
Throwing out my plastic bottles and replacing with this. The shape should make it easy to store 3 or 4 in the refrigerator without taking up too much space. Pours well and easy to handle. Only drawback for me is that it has a plastic lid, where I would prefer glass, but the water is not continuously in contact with the lid. Read some other reviews that complained you can't shake it but I haven't tried that. Great for storing water.
Customer Review: It's ok Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this to replace one "exactly" like it that broke. The old one was about 5 years old, and the glass was about twice as thick. Also, the lid was rubber which fit beautifully. The new cheap hard plastic lids are not very nice.
I use it for making iced tea and am wondering just how long it will stand up to the heat. Fine for juice or cold items I suppose, but I wish they hadn't changed it so much.
Customer Review: Not very substantial Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this because I wanted a glass pitcher with a lid rather than plastic. I have a couple Frigoverre glass pitchers that work very well. This one is definitely not as substantial as my Frigoverre or anything I have that is Pyrex glass. I'm going to be very careful with so that it doesn't break. Also not too impressed with the lid, it's plastic and doesn't have anything like an O-ring to prevent leakage.
Customer Review: Good, Small pitcher Summary: 4 Stars
I was looking for a pitcher to brew hot tea in directly. This pitcher allows me to poor boiling water directly into it without the glass cracking. I do not know if it is made of Borosilicate glass but I have been using it for a couple of months without issue so I am guessing that it is heat resistant. My only complaint about this pitcher is that the lid drips a lot when the pitcher is full of fluid.
