Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Luminarc Quadro 2-Liter Glass Pitcher with LidCustomer Review: best fits the need Summary: 4 Stars
I got 4 more of these because I already had 2 for many years and liked them and I needed more for storing water emptied from the 3-gallon jugs that I get delivered. I was expecting them to be airtight, but the tops are now made of a different material and have a slightly different design, and they are NOT airtight! Therefore, I just use plastic wrap under the lid since otherwise there would be no sealing out of air. Besides, once I start using one container I don't replace the plastic wrap, so it's not that terribly inconvenient. They still work best for me for my purpose, as I prefer to store in glass, and I LOVE the shape for refrigerator storage.
Customer Review: could be better Summary: 2 Stars
I bought these b/c i liked the space-saving features and they are pretty, but I'm taking them back to the store. The glass jars rattle around in the fridge door, I wish they had drippy bottoms or something so they didn't slip around as much. Like another reviewer said, this style is also rather hard to hold onto. My 8 year old can't do it well, and since these jars are glass and rather heavy when full, that's not good! Finally, am disappointed that there are always drips after pouring. They slip down the side of the container and end up getting my fridge shelves dirty. Ick. Like I said, I"m taking them back.
Customer Review: Glass is just the ticket! Summary: 5 Stars
Glass is the perfect way to keep a drink from tasting like the container, or other foods in the refrigerator. And this Luminarc 2-Liter glass pitcher is perfect for keeping tea fresh. (I don't make Kool-Aid or Crystal Light) The size of the pitcher is just right, and your hand can grab at the indention on either side safely removing it from the fridge. The top doesn't have to be removed to pour your beverage either. All that, and the price is reasonable. What more could you ask for???? I highly recommend this for people who care about the food they eat and drink, and who don't like plastic. (me)
Customer Review: Good suntea jar Summary: 4 Stars
This is a nice suntea jar. We gave up on the ones with the spigots because they always leak in the first summer of use. This was inexpensive, easy to pour from and fits very nicely in the fridge. We got two of them so we've always got tea brewing. The glass was a little thinner than I expected - I'd have liked a more solid feeling piece, but they've held up through the dishwasher and regular use for about a month so far. I looked a long time for the right jars that could go from outside to the fridge and take up little space. I'd love a 3 liter that was this thin but taller.
Customer Review: Holds water, but not that great at it Summary: 2 Stars
I guess this pitcher does what it's supposed to, holds water. It does not however hold it very well when pouring, the lid doesn't seal the top so that water can't get out anywhere but the designed sput and there is no actual way to close it, as twisting the lid to a "closed" position does nothing. The problem with this is that if you lean the pitcher a bit too much the water starts randomly coming out of places other than the spout. In addition there isn't an actual handle, its 2 indentations on the sides of the pitcher. I wouldn't recommend this product.
