Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Luminarc Quadro 2-Liter Glass Pitcher with Lid

Customer Review: Shop where you can touch and physically look at the item...
Summary: 1 Stars

This was a long shot ordering since the big box stores do not carry anything of the sort due to decreased inventory with the failing economy. Now we are all forced to be at the mercy of the internet ordering such items without the ability to even look and feel to be sure it's well worth the expense and needs for the intended use. This product is sub par in quality as the lid does not seal at all..."so why even make a lid for this pitcher if it does not seal?" This is it for me purchasing low quality when decent quality products are expected over the internet. I need the local "big box" stores to increase selection and inventory to be able to make a sound decision in purchasing products that meet my needs around the house without having to deal with shipping charges and returns. The item says it is made in France but I would not be surprised if it was made in China and designed in France...SUB-PAR QUALITY PRODUCT...I should have followed instinct on the bad reviews and I better get a full refund.

Customer Review: Small footprint, dribble lid, can't live in a "pack"
Summary: 3 Stars

Reason I wanted a bunch of these is that it fits perfectly on my fridge shelf, and takes up half the space of my old bottles which held the exact same amount.
I could deal with the dribble lid by removing it before pouring, and could live with the fact that the lid isn't airtight because I use the contents in a day or two, but the problem is that the slightest clink of one against the other instantly breaks a huge hole in the one being clinked. And it's odd, because I find no problem with it in the dishwasher, in the sink, nor during normal use but the slightest, and I do mean slight, clink of one against the other, and it self destructs.
So, if you want one, go for it, but if your dream is a fridge door shelf holding several bottles, forget about it - I've bought 5 so far, and have killed 2 at the first slight clink. I'm making the remainder last by making sure to put something between them, but that's the end of my dream neat, space saving beverage line up.

Customer Review: A Useless Piece of Sculpture
Summary: 1 Stars

Lets face it, a juice bottle without a functioning, spill proof lid makes no sense. We squeeze our own fresh citrus juice and this bottle fits well on the door shelf of the refrigerator saving space. So far so good. But the lid is a flimsy piece of malformed plastic that does not seal. In fact, most of it is open to facilitate pouring. Citrus, in fact almost all fresh juices settle, pulp at bottom, juice at top. You can't shake this thing without splashing juice all over the place. It's too deep to stir with even the longest swizzle stick and who wants to drink juice that been sitting virtually open in the fridge for days. Besides just evaporating, most of the nutritional value is gone. It's an absolute fact that unsealed juice has zero vitamin value if left open. You wonder what they were thinking of when they designed this thing.I bought this at Amazon but there's no Verified Purchase checkbox so you'll have to take my word for it.

Customer Review: Not as promised
Summary: 1 Stars

In the "Product Features" section for this item, it says:

# Thick, clear-glass construction; secure-fitting white lid
# Ergonomic, integrated handle and spill-resistant pour spout

These claims are false. The lid does not fit tightly. There is no rubber inside, and it is NOT airtight. The "spill-resistant" spout is not spill resistant at all. The lid is not tight fitting and the liquid inside comes out all around the loose-fitting plastic lid.

The glass is not thick, either. It feels quite thin.

The "Product Description" section also reads like a fairy tale. It does not "lock in carbonation" as it is not airtight by any means. They are right on two things though...it IS clear glass so you can see what's inside, and it DOES fit in the door of the fridge. If these are the only two things you need then go ahead and buy it...if not, look elsewhere.

Customer Review: Nice Glass Pitcher
Summary: 4 Stars

I love glass. I like nice heavy drinking glasses made in France. I am always leaving my glasses in the fridge to chill. I have a juicer and it has never suited me to store my juiced juices in plastic. It just seems... gauche. I really like this pitcher. It hold a chill nicely. It's not as heavy as I'd like. Some of the Italian brand glass pitchers have more of a heft to them. Of course, it probably makes it more ergonomic and more suitable for holding larger quantities than something heftier.

I didn't experience any quality control issues, no extra glass or irregularities. The plastic stopper in the top seems a bit flimsy. I would have preferred a glass stopper. This is very functional however and fits nicely on both the door of my fridge and on the shelf. The shape is nice, easy to hold onto and pour from. In general, a nice, handy pitcher even if there is nothing to rave about.
