First of all, you have to assemble it when it arrives. But more disappointingly than that: it is just about impossible to direct the light beam so that it falls directly on your page, so as a bedside reading lamp it is sort of a bust. I give it three stars because I think they made the lamp they meant to make, but it just isn't what I wanted.
Description of Low-Voltage Halogen Floor Lamp from Destination Lighting
This low-voltage halogen task light is perfect for an office work area, or as a general reading light. The weighted arm is adjustable. It measures 26 inches in length when fully extended, and allows the overall height of the piece to range from 40 inches to 52 inches. The height of the arm can be adjusted. The lamp has a lustrous satin-nickel finish. A 50-watt halogen bulb is included.Tools & Hardware
