The first time I tried my new pan, I filled the wells too full and that was a huge mess... don't fill it more than 2/3 full. Also, make sure the wells are coated pretty decently with oil/butter/non-stick spray. Another trick I found was that turning the balls twice (rather than flipping them once) made them a nicer shape. The first time I tried making balls, I used chopsticks to turn them over and since then, I found that bamboo skewers really are ideal. You also have to make sure than really are READY to be flipped (crusty edges and bubbles in batter). This pan is wonderful. If anyone has problems with it --it is probably "user error"!Customer Review: Wow!

I only wonder why I waited so long to get one of these pans. It is very easy to use and I've been experimenting with recipes from the Aebleskiver and More cookbook, which I bought at the same time, as well as recipes from several on-line sources. Great. Easy. Fun to do and they add a lot of eye appeal, as well as a delicious treat to the table. I saw one of these pans almost 20 years ago in Solvang, CA, and didn't buy it because we were flying home and I didn't want to put it in my suitcase. Have been looking at them ever since and thinking one day I would get one. Have recently retired, the time is now! I just love it.Customer Review: fun pan!

i admit it. i bought this pan merely because it looked cool (and i was in the process of accumulating lots of cast iron pans). i had never had an aebleskiver before.
this pan is incredible! i have since used it to make aebleskivers, and they are pretty good, although i guess i'd rather have pancakes or french toast. but, the pan is SO well seasoned that any accidental drips on the top can just be wiped off with a dry paper towel after the cooking is finished.
it's also a fun shape! we have made yellow cake aebleskivers (which are good! dip them in icing) and plan to make other cakes etc.

I had never had Aebelskivers before buying this pan. Like other Lodge products, I found it to be of high quality and easy to use. I bought the "Aebelskivers and More" booklet from Amazon with it and had no problem making perfect Aebelskivers the first time. I put a teaspoonful of lingonberries or black currant preserves inside each one (or use any good quality preserves), and a light dusting of powdered sugar on top when their done. One warning though: If you have small children, be prepared to make lots of them. My eight-year-old daughter describes them as "the best doughnuts in the world."Customer Review: Lovely pan

I had never heard of this type of pan before, and a Gold Box deal sparked my interest. After reading all the reviews, I elected to purchase the Lodge Pro-Logic model. The pan is well seasoned, and works impressively well. My kids and family were fascinated by the idea of round pancake balls. I used the Krusteaz mix recipe submitted by another reviewer. The first batch was a learning experience, but subsequent batches turned out perfect-brown and crispy on the outside, sweet and moist on the inside. Thanks for the new experience, Amazon!
