I received this for my birthday last year, and I love it. I have only used it 3-4 times so far, but it's always a hit. I use the recipes on the Williams-Sonoma website for the batter and play around with the fillings on my own. I usually keep the heat pretty low fearing that I will burn the pancakes. I use various tools to flip them - spoons, chopsticks, fondue forks. I just never have skewers around the house! They don't really stay perfectly spherical all the way around b/c they will flatten when they are resting on the plate. I try to remember which hole I filled first so that one gets flipped first. I find that the middle hole gets the hottest so after it's been on the stove for a couple of batches I'll stop using that hole altogether. I've used a canola oil spray and melted butter, but I think I prefer the melted butter.Customer Review: Absolutely the best...

I have wanted this type of pan for so long and found so many choices...but when the reviews were read, this is the pan everyone liked. I love this pan...a heavy, quality piece so well thought out and constructed. The extra handle and the flat ring on the bottom keep it steady on the gas ring. I use the Bisquick recipe and two bamboo skewers to turn the little puffs. They are a joy to make and so easy. My family likes them dipped in syrup, or sprinkled with powdered sugar with preserves on the side. The pan is so easy to care for...I just run it under the hot tap and let it dry on the hot gas ring. I did try the oil in each cup...but found that Pam did a better job. Amazon was so fast with its delivery...I received it within a few days of purchase. I love cast iron simply for the fact that it develops a non-stick patina over time and is always a versatile piece of cookware. Range top, oven safe, grill, camping... you name it. It just works. I've done pretty much everything in the culinary world and I wanted to try something new. This pan is fun to use, and VERY well seasoned for coming straight from the factory. Swirl about 1/2 to 1 tsp of melted butter or peanut oil in the bottom of each of the wells every time you drop batter in it and you won't have a problem with sticking. I tried a bag of martha stewart muffin mix as per another reviewers suggestion and it does fit this pan PERFECTLY. The handles are very well thought out too. I highly recommend this pan and anything else that comes from Lodge cookware.Customer Review: worth the money

After doing a lot of research and reading reviews I chose this one. I used a recipe that was in one of the reviews for this product, and it performed great. I think the people who have trouble with it are not letting it get to the proper temp and possibly not coating each cup with butter. It takes a little bit to get the hang of flipping them( I used wooden skewers), but is easily mastered(wait for the bubbles to appear before trying to turn them).Since then I have tried different variations of the basic recipe. I did not have to preseason it, and it seems as long as You keep it clean and oiled, it performs great. The only thing I can say bad is after awhile the center hole gets done faster than the others, which is understandable. I would highly recommend it to anyone.Customer Review: Aebleskiver pan

I researched this product and found the lodge cast iron - already seasoned pan to be the best. It releases the cooked product every bit as good as a synthetic coating & is safer. It's cast iron quality distributes the heat evenly. Amazon.com came up with the best price & shipping options also. And I'd been at 5 or 6 different sites. I like cooking - so, it was a new & different way to present a b'fast, lunch or dinner....depending on what you put into the "pancake". Everything I wanted to know about this product was listed. ie: that the handle is cast iron as well, & gets hot also. That you will need something to turn the pancakes with...and they're not included. Nor is recipes. There were no unpleasant surprises.
