Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Lodge Max Temp Handle Mitt, Black

Customer Review: Glad I have!
Summary: 4 Stars

It's great, keeps my hands from being burned and easier to use then a towel. I guess maybe the handle on the skillet itself is a little to small, sometimes I feel like this handle mitt will roll around the handle. Not the best feeling when holding a heavy hot piece of cookware. Not the mitt's fault and other then that it's great!

Customer Review: Not worth the cost
Summary: 1 Stars

I received this as a Christmas gift (along with a cast iron skillet and lid). The mitt lasted less than a month- it scorched, cracked, and then frayed, even though it was never used at a higher temperature than listed. I have since replaced it with a silicon version I bought at Bed Bath & Beyond and it works much better.

Customer Review: Perfect for Pro-Logic pans
Summary: 5 Stars

If you have the Pro-Logic pans with the flat curved handle, this will fit perfectly. It works well on the regular handles too, but has a looser fit. It does what it's supposed to do. I've left it on the handle for the entire cooking process, at medium heat, and it still permits you to lift the pan by the handle.

Customer Review: definitely not what I expected
Summary: 1 Stars

I bought a cast iron grill the same time I purchased this "mitt". I assumed it was a full mitt to cover the hand when handling the hot grill. It is a silly little thing that covers the handle of a skillet. Perhaps I didn't read the description well enough. I should have returned it but didn't. Silly me.

Customer Review: I like it, but now I need a helper handle holder
Summary: 4 Stars

I really like specialized tools, and this sure fits the bill. It perfectly fits the short handle of my Lodge 12" cast iron skillet. Now, that skillet is heavy when it is empty; put anything in it and you'll need to use the helper handle--with a pot holder. How about a companion helper handle holder, Lodge?
