Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Lodge Max Temp Handle Mitt, BlackCustomer Review: very pleased Summary: 5 Stars
this little sleeve fits perfectly over the handle of my cast iron skillet. because it completely fits the handle i don't have to worry about burning my hand on exposed areas on a very hot skillet coming out of a 400 plus degree oven. i even leave the cover on the handle while it is in use in the oven and the pad is a little hot but not burning blister hot .
Customer Review: Good for the short term Summary: 4 Stars
This mitt does the job that it is made to do but to me I think that it will not make it past a year. I have used it for a month now and it is showing signs of heat melting the outer liner. I do have to say it fits the handle very well and also my hand. When you pick up the pot you know that you are not going to be burned and you will have a good grip on the handle.
Customer Review: Keeps me from being a dummy Summary: 5 Stars
What can I say? Hot handles look just like cold ones and after 3 or 4 beers the memory of which pan just came out of the oven is overtaken by the motor memory of me just picking up pans.
This thing keeps be from being a dummy. Just remember to always put it on the handle as you take pans out of the oven and you'll save yourself the pain.
Customer Review: Great mitt! Summary: 5 Stars
Can't imagine myself saying, "Great mitt,' without talking about a baseball glove. But this thing works pretty well, although I'm sure one day I'll forget to slip it on the handle and I'll burn my hand. One quality issue: when I clipped off the Lodge tags, the plastic dealie left a hole in the mitt, and now fuzz from inside is coming out of it.
Customer Review: Just what we needed Summary: 5 Stars
The Lodge Max Temp Handle Mitts are just what we were looking for to insulate our cast iron skillet handles. We leave ours by the stove for easy and convenient pan handling.
Just make sure you don't leave them on your skillets while you're cooking; they're definitely not meant to take the kind of heat from a gas flame below.
