After all the years I've used cast-iron pans, and all the near-burns I've had from thoughtlessly grabbing the handle on a hot pan, I finally broke down and ordered the handle mitt.
Why did I wait so long? It fits, it's much easier and safer to use than wrapping an over-large pot-holder around a handle and trying to maneuver a big cast-iron skillet while it's slipping.
I also ordered one of these as a gift when I ordered mine. My only regret is that I didn't order another for myself!

I just received this handle mitt as part of a three part set, cast iron waffle maker, mitt, and cleaning brush. I am not displeased with either item except that the mitt does not fit over the double handles of the waffle iron. It it impossible to use it to flip the waffle iron over as the handles are extemely hot during cooking. I feel it was not thought out or planned properly when this three part set was organized. My husband does love the mitt however for use on other cast iron skillet handles.Customer Review: Just as advertised

I probably read way too many reviews for a $5 product but they were mostly spot on. It fits the handle of the Lodge skillet well, but the handle itself is often too stubby for lifting heavy amounts of food. You will still need another towel or pad for the handle on top of the skillet as one-handed pouring or moving is often difficult even if you have strong arms. It doesn't work well when wet, something that others have pointed out, but overall is well worth the small amount of money.Customer Review: Another use....

I recently bought a tiny, travel size straightening iron (for hair) and I needed something safe to store it in when it's still hot and I need to pack it in my suitcase. This is the perfect size and safety measure.
They sell hot iron cases for 3 times the price of this even safer alternative! Plus, when my little iron no longer works, I can use this pot handle for it's real purpose- in my kitchen.
Love it for both purposes. I highly recommend it.

This is a great handle cover and does exactly what it is supposed to do. Yes, it IS small and fits perfectly on the iron skillet handle and out of my way. It saves my hand from getting burnt and I don't have to have a bulky large mit on that is in my way. I can't belive I have waited so long to get one of these!
I rated it 4 because it is just black, nothing interesting but the quality of the product is good.
Save yourself from the burn! :)
