I bought this Lodge grill because I have the flat one that I use almost everyday for frying eggs. When I needed to grill a steak I used the flat griddle and then had to scrap off the residue from the steak. With this griddle I don't have to do that anymore. It comes pre-seasoned, but it helps to do it a couple times more. I have large magnets on the fridge with hooks on them that I hang the griddles on when not in use and it works great. Never wash a seasoned fry pan or griddle as you'll then need to re-season it.Customer Review: Panini skillet

After viewing many grill pans I decided on the LODGE pan based on its reputation of quality, and durability.I use this pan primarily for paninis and grilling salmon patties.In both uses the pan performs admirably.Its heft can be lessened by using both handles simultaneously when necessary.It heats evenly and provides a source of iron, without the problem of teflon contamination from "non stick pans".The pan's generous size allows sufficient room to grill generous portions of food.A worthwhile investment!Customer Review: Excellent!

I love this pan! It grills steaks to perfection. I think I prefer this pan to our outdoor grill. I've always steered clear of cast iron because I was afraid it would be difficult to clean; I am happy to report that isn't the case with this pan. I cleaned it right away (while still warm) with warm water and an old cloth. It was a breeze (I had added a little oil prior to cooking which may have helped). The pan was cleaned, dried and coated with oil in about 5 minutes. I highly recommend this product!Customer Review: Almost Out Side In Side

First saw a product like this in Argentina and could only find it on Amazon. Quality item that gives you as close to that out side grill as you can get inside. Like my grandmother's ironware, metal seasoning is the key to non sticking and you get some supplemental iron in your food as well. As a weight loss health provider this holds some of the grease off the food yet retains flavor. Recommended for my patients as a part of weight control eating modification.

I have been using cast iron cookware for almost 40 years and have about 30 pieces, most of it Lodge. Lately, I've been purchasing the pre-seasoned and think it's great. This grill pan cooks well, but clean-up has always been a pain. After re-seasoning it several times, that's gotten better, but it's still not the "just wipe clean" of the flat pans. Maybe in another year or so... However, I AM ordering the grid/griddle for use on my grill, so I'm not obviously not giving up on it.
