Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Lodge Logic L8SGP3 Pre-Seasoned Square Grill PanCustomer Review: George Forman George Schmorman Summary: 5 Stars
I just got this pan for my birthday, and i LOVE it! Nevermind the meat, its fantastic for grilling vegetables/tofu as well. My grilled eggplant was eggcellent. Living in an apartment I don't have access to a barbeque - but who cares now that I have this pan?!?
I would say this is a rich man's George Forman Grill, but at the price its going for...its just better.
Cleanup is a dream.
Cast iron cookware is good for you, no snarky chemicals. A wee bit of extra iron in the diet is good for us ladies as well.
Customer Review: Okay for the price Summary: 3 Stars
This pan is VERY large. It is also very heavy. Personally I don't use that much grill space usually when cooking for two. What makes this a negative is that it heats unevenly. One of the primary benefits of cast-iron cookware is that it heats evenly. I have two other cast-iron pans that I cook with and are much older. They heat evenly, and are easy to clean. They are fantastic and are what inspired me to buy this grill pan. But this pan doesn't perform nearly as well. I am looking to return it for the Emeril pan. Hopefully that one will work better.
Customer Review: great grill Summary: 5 Stars
Grilled food is just as good as cooking on the BBQ grill. I like Lodge products ... I own two fry pans, this grill and a dutch oven. I like the idea of cooking with cast iron although I still use my stainless and non-stick pans. My only concern with this grill is a lack of ventilation. We all know how smoky a BBQ grill can be and that's what happens in your house. I only have a 300 cfm microwave exhaust fan and it really didn't do the trick. I might try tenting with foil the next time I use it and try to better direct the smoke toward the fan.
Customer Review: So much fun I look for things to grill Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this because it was the only grill pan I could find that would work with my induction stove top. I have cooked 4 steaks, pork chops, and burgers in this thing and they all come out with beautiful grill marks, juicy, and delicious! I love the high ridges!
For those thick cuts like a ribeye or filet mignon I find searing it on the stove top and then finishing it off in the oven works best.
This pan is not light, so if you plan to transport while it is still hot make sure to invest in a THICK set of oven mits!
Customer Review: Excellent grill pan Summary: 5 Stars
The first time I used it was for hamburgers, which turned out great. Cleaning the skillet was a bit of a challenge, but not impossible. I followed instructions and scrubbed and it all came off. The second time we cooked salmon, and it turned out very well. What's more, the skillet was much easier to clean that time. It looked like it would be a challenge again, but surprisingly, all the little bits and chunks came off with the scrub brush. I think this will become one of our favorite pans, particularly in winter when we can't grill outside.
