Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Lodge Logic L5SK3 Pre-Seasoned Cast-Iron 8-Inch Skillet

Customer Review: Lodge cast iron fry pan
Summary: 5 Stars

My wife and I are both good cooks. We can afford to buy what we want. We like cast iron because it is a good heat transfer medium. Lodge makes an excellent quality cast iron fry pan. We own several Cast iron fry pans but we needed a second 8 inch skillet.

This preseasoned skillet is amazing. It is out of the box on it's way to becoming well seasoned. Good cast iron is a non-stick surface. It can take several years to break in a cast iron pan. This pan is almost non-stick after only a few uses.

Lodge has improved it's preseasoned product. This is much better than some we bought 2 years ago.

Customer Review: perfect
Summary: 5 Stars

Are you kidding - $13 for a skillet this great. I have always used "non stick" pans with a coating, but they always get scratched, can't take the heat, and after reading about the health concerns, I wanted to find something else. This pan is perfect. It holds heat so much better than the thin non-stick pans so the cooking process is much more consistant. Just finished making a steak, and my wife and I agreed that it is much better than the outdoor grill. Eggs are great too. Easy to clean, just a little hot water and a brush. Coat with a little oil when done and it is ready for the next use. It is even made in the USA!!!

Customer Review: Smaller than I expected
Summary: 4 Stars

Cast iron is cast iron, and I expected no less. Good heat retention, literally invincible. The 8 inch is perfect for a college student who wants to cook up quick small snacks like eggs. I bought this because I wanted a pan I could flip around, and this pan is so light compared to my 10 1/4 inch skillet.

The only reason why I gave it four stars is because I had the impression that it had an 8 inch cooking surface. Instead, it was 8 inches across from lip to lip but the actual cooking surface is only 6 inches across. I felt a little deceived, but the pan is satisfactory, so I'm not complaining.

Customer Review: Grilling Delight!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought a few diffrent sized Lodge cast iron pans to use on my grill and have loved the results. I use them right on the grates of my Weber Genesis to cook bacon, pancakes, vegtables, fajita meat, or anything else that would fall through the cracks. The pan cooks wonderfully and even. It cleans easily with water and good scrub. I always make sure to put a light coat of oil on the pan after I use it. I keep them outside underneath my grill (which is covered) and have not had any issues of rust. I have also used the pans inside to make a few different things in the oven and have had equally good results.

Customer Review: The best skillet
Summary: 5 Stars

I just love this skillet. I have been using it for three months now and I love it, would not change for any other skillets out there. It is non stick, heats evenly and works wonders. Perfect for the best pancakes, frying eggs, making grilled sandwiches. It is not that big as it might seem, but perfect for one large pancake, sandwich, two-three eggs.
Not heavy, easy to wash and care. Just love this cast iron skillet, don't bother buying other so called non-stick or other products. My non-stick pants' bottoms got scratched and that is not healthy to cook in them.
Highly recommend buying it
