If you are looking for the biggest skillet to cook for an army (ok not a real army but a family who loves your cooking *wink*), then this is the perfect skillet!!!
I ordered several different lodge logic cast iron pots and skillets for myself for Christmas. I'm so glad I did! These arrived super fast, packaged perfect, and were everything I thought they would be. Unlike other reviewers...I have no rust spots or damage on any of my lodge logic products. I loved that they were pre-seasoned...but I seasoned them myself anyway. Doesn't take long and only ensures a great cooking experience. I was so tired of buying pots, pans and skillets only to buy more sooner rather than later as they wore out. These will last a life-time! I highly recommend this and other lodge logic cast iron ware.

I love this pan, I just need a larger burner on my stove! I bought this pan to make large quantities of one of my Babci's recipes and found that I am using it more frequently than I originally thought. My husband poked fun at the size of it at first but he has also found it to be a great pan. Because of its size food doesn't fall over the sides so there is less mess to clean. The only drawbacks are the pan is very heavy so it is not good for someone who has difficulty lifting and it takes longer for the heat to radiate to the sides of pan. Most of the heat stays in the center but I put that blame on the size of my burner. I will never go back to using stainless steel pans after using Lodge cast iron. This pan is easy to clean and the food doesn't stick when cooking in it. I love it.

i love Lodge cast iron, this pre-seasoned monster's surface is terrific.
and i knew what i was getting when i ordered this pan, but it's so large as to be nearly impractical for home use, at least on a stove-top.

on my single burner, even with significant low and steady preheating, a hot spot is created in the center of the pan. the edges of the pan were not as hot.
maybe if you have a french-top or another large multiple-burner range top (or even a campfire?) it might work better.
instead, i'll use the pan for baked oven dishes-- where the pan can be evenly heated.

the pan itself is sturdy as heck and of course, it's incredibly heavy. definitely a two-hander.
it's made well and the pre-seasoned surface is without flaws.

Received this pan yesterday. Wow it's big!!

I ordered the Cajun Cookware Lids 15 Inch Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet Lid for it as Lodge does not offer a 15 inch lid and it is reported to fit.

I also have the 10 inch and 12 inch Lodge skillets with lids so this will complete my collection!!

There are no drip spouts like in the photo, so I think the photo is for the 12 inch. I love my cast iron skillets for their non-stick! I tossed all the teflon ones into the trash because they are carcinogenic. I have some stainless skillets, but everything sticks to them. Eggs are almost impossible to cook on stainless, but with cast iron it is a breeze!!

Too bad Lodge does not make a lid for this pan.

Customer Review: Unusual use... Why I just HAD to have this skillet.

This skillet continues my Mother's tradition. The main reason I bought this skillet is because it is the same one that my Mother used to bake her wonderful pineapple upside down cakes for more than 60 years. Place the pineapple rings in the bottom, put maraschino cherries in the center of each slice, top with a can of crushed pineapple with the juice, a stick of melted butter and brown sugar. Pour yellow cake batter for two layers, made from scratch, into the juicy pineaple mixture and bake at 350 degrees. Let it cool, then put a large platter over the top and flip it. That is why I absolutely HAD to have this skillet. That is the ONLY way to bake pineapple upside down cake. Oh, and it's also great for frying a whole chicken.
