Customer Review: Great, versatile pan!

After my Lodge 12" skillet, this is my second most used pan. I think it's great for making things like sheperd's pie, and it's great for frying up french fries. Just a great pan. I think that the seasoning from Lodge is probably 3/4 of the way seasoned for my taste, but once you use it a few times and wash/dry/coat of oil after each use, it really starts getting good!Customer Review: Can't go wrong with cast iron!

I've been gradually buying cast iron pieces to add to my cookware. I grew up using cast iron, but did not have any in my own kitchen as an adult. This is a really nice pan, great for frying chicken as the name suggests but is also handy for many other cooking applications. Love the nice high sides and cleans up great. This is a very versatile pot. I've only made chicken in it twice, but everything else also seems to do well. It's an excellent size if you're not cooking for a crowd. I now have 3, 5, and 7 quart Lodge pots with two 2 quart serving pots on order from Amazon and none of my Caphalon Professional or All*clad compares.Customer Review: Great Cast Iron Pot

I have not used this pot for frying chicken, but rather for baking bread. It's a recipe for a no-knead bread, and it comes out with a nice crust and a chewy interior! The fact that the cast iron is pre=seasoned is a nice factor, and makes for ease of use. I'm sure it would do a great job of frying chicken too!Customer Review: An All-Time Favorite - Must have!

We own a couple of these - great size, exceptional quality, superior durability. Clean-up is easy, results are great. Liked this so well that we bought duplicates for a vacation home and gave as gifts. Is a once in a lifetime purchase that you will never need to replace. Buy it - you'll like it!
