Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Lodge Color 6-Quart Dutch Oven, Café BrownCustomer Review: Good Pot (Great Size) ... Good Price Summary: 5 Stars
If you're not sure which size dutch oven to go with and you plan on making meals for a family or bulk meals with leftovers, this is a perfect size to use. Meals come out tender and moist and stay warm long after the pot is out of the oven. Lodge is good quality and Amazon seems to be the best bargin - especially when you factor in free shipping & no tax. It's a good basic home chef investment and the coffee brown color is nice and neutral too.
Customer Review: Ecourage other to purchase Summary: 5 Stars
The dutch oven was everything it was advertised to be and the customer service was excellent. Knew about the product before purchasing and it lived up to its reputation. Knew also before purchasing, it dutch over was going to be put into an oven over 400 degrees, I should replace the non-metal lid knob. So I went to Lowe's and picked up an all metal cabinet knob for a couple of bucks and replaced the furnished included - worked like a charm.
Customer Review: Love This Product Summary: 5 Stars
I love the Lodge Dutch Oven. It's great for hearty stews. I am so glad I didn't buy the pricier Le Creuset. This one works great and the clean up is very quick. Recently I took a dish to a dinner party in my Lodge and another friend brought a dish in a Le Creuset and they looked identical in appearance and my dish actually tasted better. I recommend it to anyone who wants a good Dutch Oven but doesn't want to pay an exorbitant amount.
Customer Review: Great buy! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great enamel coated, cast iron dutch oven. Why pay a few hundred dollars when you can get this one?! I've used it numerous times, and it cooks unbelievably well. I've also gotten it as a gift for a family member, and they love it too. Only down side is that the handle is not made out of iron and has a high temperature rating of 400 degrees. However, I almost always cook slow and low w/ the dutch oven, so it doesn't matter to me.
Customer Review: damaged on first use Summary: 1 Stars
I was so excited to buy this dutch oven. I researched recipes and purchased all the ingredients for my first braise. However, on that first use, the oven started making popping noises. The paint popped off (in my food) revealing spots of cast iron. I tried calling Lodge customer service, and they were completely unhelpful.
I'm returning it, and trying to find another affordable dutch oven.
