I have used Lock and Lock for many years now, and just love them. When I was given my first set, I didn't think much of it - just plastic containers. Little did I know that they would become one of my favorite kitchen tools.
I use them for everything! Veggies, snacks and sandwiches for school lunches, salad containers, left overs, frozen (bagels, fruit, leftovers), etc.
In fact, I recently attended a Tupperware, and learned that they still use BPA. I was shocked. I looked online to see if this was the case with Lock and Lock, and was so happy to learn that Lock and Lock is BPA free! I tell my friends about these products, and will continue to use them in my kitchen always.
Some nest (fit into larger containers), and they are great in the dishwasher. They do say microwave safe, but I never microwave plastic. I do know that they are great in the freezer though. :-) I have several sets (clear with blue; green and yellow), and love them. I won't use another brand.
