I was definitely not expecting it to be this small hahaha. That was my own fault though for not accurately making a measurement model of the size. But you cannot beat the AMAZING QUALITY of Lock&Lock. I have several other containers from Lock and Lock and I love ALL of them. Great quality. It's a blessing and a curse that you cannot smell anything that you put in those containers, regardless of the amount of time hahaha. Microwaved and it was fine. Never had to dishwash, so I can't comment on that. Kind of difficult to handwash if there's oil - I usually soak the container in dishwater detergent and water and swish it around with the top on.Customer Review: SMALL!!!

I don't think the dimensions are correct, or else I got the wrong ones. Mine measure 3.25x4.5, not 5x7. Anyway, I haven't had a chance to use them, not sure what to use them for now...
Updated 3-22-09: I found the perfect use for these! I had a half gallon of heavy whipping cream, for various dishes. I had about half of that left and didn't want it to go to waste. So I measured 1 cup into each container and put it in the freezer to save for a later date. They have held up very well in the freezer, and stack nicely.

I love these. The size is great for sending lunch to work with my husband, in the fridge I can always see what I have at a glance. They close very easily with the latches that seal it so you can always tell if it's completely closed and they are water tight. My husband dropped a container full of chili at work and was very impressed it stayed close and didn't leak on his office carpet. They make a great alternative to cute inexpensive or stylish very expensive bento boxes for his lunches.

This product deserves all the 5-stars others have given. I have nothing more significant to add, other than saying that in general, I don't endorse plastic products, but if you must choose plastic for some reason, this is the one to invest in. It is superior in quality to anything else out there in the market.
I do have this set, and use it to pack cut fruit/salad for lunch, but I don't pack any hot food in plastic. After 6 months of use and dishwasher cleaning, it still looks new.
Highly recommend.

After just one time of using the microwave to heat the contents of my Lock and Lock container, I immediately noticed the microwave did the exact same thing to this high-price container as it does to the cheap ones . . . melts the interior plastic. I had hoped the harder material would stand up better to the heating element but I was sadly disappointed. I will not be using my Lock and Lock in the microwave again and will go back to my trusted CorningWare.
