I have had this for 2 months, and in a simple action of taking the old paper towel roll off of the stand, I managed to crack the bamboo. The same thing happened to the other bamboo stick that acts as your towel ripper. The quality of this looked fine when I first got it, but it shouldn't have cracked so easily and so soon after purchase.Customer Review: Simple and beautiful

I was impressed by the quality finish on this item (not a stain, but a process that "caramelizes the natural sugar in the bamboo"). A pleasure to the touch too. I also appreciated the three nonskid rubber feet (though 4 feet would have been even better).Customer Review: It's ok.

Just get it. Looks good and works great. Much better then the metal one I owned previously. Does everything a paper towel holder should do and looks great.
