The 'portable' aspect does not mean much to me because I'm using the easel at home, schooling the kids. On the other hand, I don't mind being able to store it in the summer when school's out. And, for the record, it's a small, black nylon bag with a shoulder strap that should make it easy to move the easel around.
Setup was a little confusing in the beginning but the pictures on the box help me figure it out and I ended up with a good, reasonably stable easel with telescopic legs that should last for at least a couple of years of almost daily use.
Anyone who buys this because it's 'portable' should be aware that folding/unfolding are not 'instant' - probably need some 3 minutes to set it up but it's not an overly difficult activity. It's possible to adjust the height of the metal tray on which I'm placing my dry-erase board but there are no markers on the legs so setting the tray perfectly horizontal can be a trial and error challenge.
I am generally happy with this easel because it's stable, light weight and it folds into a small package. It's not perfect - folding/unfolding could be quicker and the way the tray is set is not ideal but I can live with that. It's 4 stars meaning "I like it".
