I've used a couple of other types of book lights before purchasing the LightWedge & I definitely think this is the best option out there. For once reading in the dark doesn't feel like a strain on my eyes since it evenly lights up the whole page. And unlike the other lights, this one gives a nice clear white light that illuminates the whole page. One other advantage is that other book lights seem to zap a lot of battery power quickly, with this one I am still enjoying full light strength with many hours of reading. I bought the light to use when traveling, but I'm already enjoying it at home.Customer Review: Lightwedge is Great!

I have had and used the lightwedge for about 5 years now and I love it.Being a bibliophile that enjoys reading in bed at night without disturbing my partner this is the perfect Booklight. I have tried every book light on the market and the Lightwedge is far superior to all others.My only regret is I didn't have one of these when I was a kid trying to read at night with a flashlight.The Lightwedge illuminates the entire page at once,not like other lights that have bright and dim spots.Plus ...when you find yourself getting sleepy just close the book on it and it makes the perfect bookmark.Customer Review: Book Light

I bought this Lightwedge for my daughter who is 7. I found out that after I put her to bed, she could not go to sleep right away. She would use a flashlight to do little reading. Well after doing some research this seemed to be the best type of light. It shows right on the page and should be better on the eyes. My only issue is you have to buy to separate sizes. I ordered the paperback size because that is all she is reading but even that size is small because there are different size paperbacks. They should make a retractable light that fits a vary of sizes. But it does do the job!Customer Review: Misleading Ads and Pictures

Pictures of this item show a clear, well and evenly lighted page - the reality is quite different.
As others have mentioned, the "Optical Quality" plastic is filled with dark curves which if you don't hold the light just right, make the page unreadable.
This light also leaves much of the page too dark to read, especially towards the middle of the page.
This might make for a good novelty item if it was priced about half as much as it is.
I'm going back to using an LED flashlight for night reading.
Customer Review: Great Concept, but I could do without the scratches.

This is a great concept, but the plexiglas is slightly cloudy and splotchy in places. It came with some scratches at the bottom that are noticeable when you are reading. Most of the defects are not noticeable when reading, but ... still. Come on, Lightwedge. It's NEW. Clean up your quality control.
However, it is great to be able to read at night without bothering the spouse. I would buy another one, even with the scratches, but I could sure do without them. It is the only drawback to the product.
