Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of LightWedge Original LED Book LightCustomer Review: Good idea. Lousy execution. Summary: 1 Stars
Problem 1: Scratched in ten minutes flat, while sitting inside a book. It was scratched by paper.
Problem 2: LEDs are not diffuse enough. You get a neat interferometry pattern on your page. (You did that experiment in high school, didn't you?)
Problem 3: Awkward to flip pages.
I liked the idea. I just wish it was designed by somebody who actually used it.
Customer Review: Original Lightwedge Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased the Original Lightwedge and I like it very much. I also have the case to keep it in when not in use so it won't get scratched. If you do not have the case or something to put it in, it might get scratched. You can clean it with a cleaner you can buy for eye glasses and a soft cloth. I also have the paperback version and love them both. I would recommend this product.
Customer Review: Nice concept, poorly executed Summary: 2 Stars
I recently purchased this item. While the degree of illumination is adequate, the homogeneity of the lighting is poor, with some areas less well-illuminated than others. Another problem is that static electricity builds up, causing the pages to stick to the plexiglas in an annoying fashion. Finally, I consider the price rather high for this item, given its simple construction.
Customer Review: Great product, but scratches easily Summary: 4 Stars
Makes reading in bed at night very nice. My wife's a light sleeper and the light from the LightWedge doesn't bother her. The one issue is that you have to take particular care of the item to keep it from scratching. Mine is now covered with scratches, but this can be prevented if you're a careful user. My reading glasses aren't in the best shape either.
Customer Review: night driving with lightwedge Summary: 5 Stars
I keep a lightwedge in the car and find it great during night driving for both map and book reading without disturbing the driver (my wife) or the kids.
The lightwedge is extremely versatile whenever a reading light is needed and might have many uses in the military during night ops or in hurricane evacuation centers after the mandatory 'lights out'.
