I like the concept of the book light and it works great for reading in bed. However, there are suppose to be two levels of brightness and there are not. I ordered the first one for Christmas and when I got it, it appeared that the switch was broken because there was only one level of brightness. I returned it to Amazon and purchased another one, but the problem was the same. I kept it because I like to use it for reading in bed. I got no response when I contacted the customer service department for the LightWedge company, so that was disappointing.
My daughter has the paperback size and hers does have two levels of brightness.

1) it's too big for paperbacks so my wrist and/or thumb gets sore from holding it, and the book up.
2) changing pages with it is hard
3) my 50-year old eyes have trouble focusing through the thickish plastic
4)it scratches easily and accumulates dust even while you are reading
If it had slight magnification (to make up for the loss from these 50-year old eyes, came in two sizes, didn't scratch so easily, and was a little lighter, it would be more useful.
I do use it as a night light, since the light is bright. the concept is great.

I received my order today and I am going to return it right away. Here are my reasons:
- The product received does not have the one-touch 2 brightness levels control. It comes with a different style of sliding on/off switch.
- The acrylic screen contains scratch marks and smudges. Totally didn't expect from a brand new sealed package.
- The light does not cover the page evenly. One can almost see two rays of light across the page. The brightness is way too low for reading in the dark.
That is why I am returning it immediately.

We bought our first Lightwedge about three years ago. Our young son quickly claimed it for his own. It's great for encouraging reading before bedtime and doesn't bother our other son, who bunks in with him. Lightwedge is a GREAT, unique gift for all of those birthday parties kids get invited to - especially with the new Harry Potter edition. Although our son leaves his on, brings it on trips without its protective case, and generally treats it poorly, we have had no problems. The Lightwedge is extrememly durable and the batteries seem to last forever.Customer Review: Scratch city

I bought this book light after reading the postings on this site, which means I was twice as careful not to scratch the glass. Didn't help. When I switched pages, the paper itself actually left a two-inch scratch on the glass, which now mars every page I read. This is with the first read! I can't imagine what continuous readings will do. The lightbulb also casts a halo effect across the page, which I didn't mind as much as others. My suggestion is not to buy this product until they find a scratch-resistent glass. It really does effect the read.
