Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of LightWedge Flex Neck Reading Light, Soft Touch Black

Customer Review: ..almost perfect.
Summary: 5 Stars

Just wanted to add that I recently purchased this to operate my amateur radio equipment in a low-light camping situation and I was amazed at the quality and sturdiness of the unit for $4.00 apiece. It has a bright enough light to show the face of a radio or other equipment in the pitch-dark of a mountain-top camp-site.

The foot/base/clam is surprisingly rugged and as is the goose neck.

I have not owned the unit log enough to comment on the battery life but have used it continuously for eight hours without any diminution of brightness. I kinda get the feeling that it will last well longer than 16 hours which is all I need anyway.

By the way, eBay has *sheets* of the CR3202 batteries for a song and changing them out in this unit is (literally) a snap.

I ordered three more of these little guys; bound to come in handy.

Customer Review: The LightWedge is Pretty Good
Summary: 4 Stars

Overall, the LightWedge Flex Neck Reading Light is a good product.

Pros:
* It's built tough (doesn't seem like the neck or clip would wear out anytime soon).
* It has pretty good quality components considering the price.
* The light is very bright and reduces eye strain.
* It's lightweight and compact.
* Comes with extra batteries.

Cons:
* The neck is kind of short so when I use it with my textbook, I have to re-clip it to different parts of the book to get the most light. It's kind of annoying.
* The on/off button, located on the opposite side of where the bulbs are, is "buggy." Sometimes I have to press three times in order for the light to turn on.
* Not sure how long the batteries will last but I can see replacing the batteries getting to be annoying.

Customer Review: Works great!
Summary: 5 Stars

For Christmas I purchased a $20 Kindle light for my husband, which I really liked. I decided to purchase one for myself and found this one for half the price. It's exactly the same, works great, and I can read in bed without turning on the overhead light, etc. It shines on the page very well, I have no trouble seeing, clips on well (although I clip several pages together at once if it's a soft-bound book), and moves easily if you need to flash more light anywhere. So far I've used it nearly every night for about 1.5 months and the little battery is still working fine. It came with 2 spares though, and we purchased an extra package of batteries so I'm good. Although I've read other reviews about the light switch going out, this hasn't happened with mine. At this price, I'm not too concerned about it, either.

Customer Review: Pleasantly surprised
Summary: 5 Stars

I was looking for a good night light to use for my kindle. I was able to purchase this for about $6 from Borders (my location is closing so they're getting rid of some merchandise). I can say this is definitely worth the price (even the original price). It's a very sturdy device with the metal bendable neck. I was so stoked about this that I had to write a review immediately. I'd originally shut my computer off for the night. This thing is so bright compared to the old Book Owl clip on light I'd been using. I much prefer the even dispersement with this product. And actually, this light is so bright that it would make a decent flashlight. I think I may run and grab a couple more for good measure. I highly recommend this product.

Customer Review: Durable and light, but battery life is subpar
Summary: 3 Stars

When I saw this light, I got really excited about the small size and flexibility and completely ignored something equally important: batteries. Included with the light were two C2032 coin-size lithium batteries. The box promised that these batteries would last approximately 20 hours, but by my estimation, the light started to go dim after only about 16 hours of use. This does not seem like a big deal, but C2032 batteries can be expensive to replace (I paid 2.99 a pop at Batteries Plus), and if you're not careful, your cute little book light might end up costing you more to power than a 100 watt lamp. If you intend to use this light often, I recommend that you order a bulk amount of replacement batteries from Amazon.
