Customer Review: Great for awhile but dangerous

I bought this set on September 11, 2008, and my family has really enjoyed it, especially the taller glasses. But in the last week two of the tall glasses have broken in the dishwasher, and today I was about to use a glass when a family member noticed it was cracked and potentially dangerous. I'm going to get rid of all of them, I can't take the risk of hurting myself. Maybe I had a bad batch or something, I'm going to contact the manufacturer.Customer Review: Solid set of glasses.

Don't buy these for grandma unless she is seeing Mark McGwire's trainer. Personally I love em, but they are heavy and to this point would appear to be solid glassware. Yes, I saw a couple reviews suggesting breakage, but I would personally be more worried about dropping them on, and damaging, my marble counter top. I guess time will tell, but after using them for almost three months now I am very impressed. I would definitely recommend these.Customer Review: Classic Design and Sturdy

These are great glasses. The design is classic, clean, and unfettered. The glasses are sturdy, and they all arrived intact with a decent packing job. The price is reasonable, and they are manufactured in the USA (how rare is that!). I bought several different styles of glasses all from the Libbey Vina series (martini, red wine, white wine, champagne flutes, tall and short tumblers with a thick base), and I am very happy with all of them.Customer Review: Handle with care

Received these glasses from our wedding registry. We choose them because we have children and thought the heavy base would be best to prevent tip overs. During the first year we had been using these glasses, we broke all but 4 (and I'm not holding out hope they will last another 6 months). The glass only needs to be gently tipped over or knocked against another item in the dishwasher and it is cracked or broken.Customer Review: good buy! Well packaged. Came on time.

This item is sold for a fraction of the price from what Crate and Barrel had been. I believe C&B are discontinuing this style in their line (York Series). I have used these glasses for 6 years and needed a few more to accommodate for the occasional casualty and larger party needs.
