This is a beautiful piece of cookware. Unfortunately it retains its heat too well, which makes it impossible to transport. The tiny side pieces are way too small to grasp and the bottom is too hot to support. I cannot tell you about the quality of the food prepared because the dish and its contents shattered into many pieces upon transporting it from oven to table when it slipped from my hands. Luckily, I got a fantastic deal on the dish. However I now have no dish and no dessert either. I will buy Pyrex next time, as I find these cheaper baking dishes to be more easy to use and more resilient than Le Creuset.

The lid from our larger 3-qt. Covered Square Casserole also fits this dish for added convenience in the kitchen..This 9-1/4-inch square baker, crafted from commercial-grade stoneware with Le Creuset's poterie glaze, cooks up a mean hot dish and looks good doing it. Coated inside and out with the company's signature enamel, the dish doesn't absorb moisture and resists chips, nicks, stains, and odors. It's oven-safe to 500 degrees F and can also go in the freezer, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. It even looks good at the table. The easy-grip side handles--ridged above and lipped underneath--provide room enough for oven-mitt-sized fingers. --Emily Bedard
