I was skeptical at first when I saw this product in stores. I had bought a competitor's, square potholder and I found it heated up really quickly when I used it as a potholder. But if Le Creuset made something similar, I thought the quality would be better. It was!
I have been amazed at how well it works around the kitchen and the whole house! I can hold a heated pot/roast from my kitchen to screened-in porch with no fear it would heat up quickly. I even put it under my dog's bowl so it doesn't slide around when she eats from it. I put it under pot plants inside so they stay in place and not scratch my floor. And putting it in the dishwashwer for easy clean-up is the best!
I have been very satisfied with this product. I bought 4 more just so I can have them around the house and in the garage.

Le Creuset Silicone utensils are heat resistant to 800 degrees F, will not scratch or damage cookware and cleanly scrape both flat and curved surfaces.Multifunctional and dishwasher-safe, this unique gadget represents the next generation in potholders. Constructed of FDA certified silicone, the ridged disk comfortably grips hot pots and pans while keeping hands safe. Laying flat on the counter, the piece adequately protects surfaces but probably shouldn?t be trusted with wood tabletops as some heat will be present. Due to its rubbery texture, the mat holds firm and can be used under a mixing bowl or cutting board to prevent slipping. Additionally, it dramatically simplifies jar lid removal.
