Very solid trivet -- works great for supporting heavy and/or hot objects like kettles, stockpots, etc. Sturdy, level, nice rubber non-scratching feet, pleasing to the eye when not in use. This trivet is wonderful - virtually indestructible. And it's absolutely beautiful, too! My friend from Brittany said her grandmother had the same exact trivet when she was a child. I am sure this one will last me a very long time.
