I got a great new braising cookbook for Christmas and needed a wide, shallow covered cast iron pot to make many of the recipes. I love this braiser! No, it's not cheap but it's incredibly well made. I've already used it about 10 times in a month and it looks just like it did when I took it out of the box. The pic makes it look like the lid is a slightly different color than the rest which is not the case. Love the caribbean color. This is the perfect size for say 4 large bone-in pork chops, 3-1/2 lbs of short ribs, 4 large bone-in chicken breasts or similar. Works well on stovetop or in oven. Perfect for browning then deglazing and braising -- all in one pot!
