With this handsome, oval pan, you can cook many dishes from whole fish to sandwiches to ham steaks. The pan is oval in shape to accommodate fish or other elongated foods. The high rim helps prevent splatters. The cast iron pieces from Le Creuset are fashioned by French artisans, and are handcast, polished, coated twice with enamel then fired. Dishwasher-safe.One of the largest skillets around, this oval beauty measures 15-3/4 inches along its widest dimension, making it ideal for frying or poaching a whole fish. Moreover, the skillet can go right into the oven for further baking or for keeping your filet warm, with a rim high enough to contain up to three quarts of liquid. Each Le Creuset skillet is individually sand-cast of rugged cast iron, which heats evenly and retains heat superbly, and is then clad in two coats of hard, colorful enamel that resists scratching or chipping. The interior of the pan is matte black. Lifting the heavy pan is made easier with the helper handle opposite the long loop handle, which allows you to hang the pan from a rack.
Le Creuset skillets are safe to use on any stovetop burner, including gas, electric, induction, and ceramic. The smooth interior prevents food from sticking, making cleaning by hand or in the dishwasher a snap.
