I purchased this pot to replace my cheap 8qt stockpot, which had been the workhorse of my kitchen. Sadly, I threw cheapie away before I test drove my beautiful but worthless Le Creuset. I can't cook anything in it without sticking and burning. Even pasta sticks to the bottom (yes, I do stir - I've been cooking long enough to know what I'm doing with a pound of pasta). I've had this nightmare of a pot for three months and have spent more time scrubbing it than I ever did in ten years with cheapie. I regret not having done due diligence and researched stock pots on Cooks before making the purchase, but it seemed like a good deal at the time and it was so beautiful, and I really did want to get rid of my ugly old dollar store pot. I'm sure you can make a sauce or soup in this thing without burning it, but it seems to me like it would take an inordinate amount of stirring to keep your food from sticking and scorching to the bottom. I do have a Le Creuset dutch oven, which I do love, as it does an amazing job and always cleans up easy, even carmelized bits of eggplant parm come off easy, so I don't know what happened with this pot. Maybe I got a lemon? I would love to return it, however, I purchased it on a shopping trip out of town and am not likely to return there anytime soon. Unless you're prepared to make a return in case you got one like mine, I'd shop around before buying this one.
