Amazon has the best customer service I've ever experienced from a company. When I received my first lava lamp in the mail, it was broken, as evidenced by the wet package and sound of broken glass that could be heard upon movement of the package. I went through the online return process and when I got to the part about returning the item, I decided to call customer service because I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it when it wasn't my fault it was broke, and be cause broken glass was involved. Customer service called me, and when I picked up the phone, I was already on hold, avoiding that obnoxious automated voice system, which I loved! Then the operator told me I wouldn't have to return the item since it contained broken glass, and that they would overnight me a replacement, since I needed it in a couple days for a birthday. The next day, I received my replacement, plus an additional lava lamp in the same color and size. Not only did amazon replace my order the next day, they sent me a free one to make up for the mishap.

How It Works
