This simple bagel holder is compact, lightweight, ingenious, inexpensive -- perfect. After many years of service, mine finally broke, and I'm replacing it immediately. I don't want to spend $25 or more for a complicated, big, expensive "gourmet" slicer with its own knife. I have plenty of knives; I merely want to slice a bagel in half without jeopardizing my fingers. For $6, what's not to love?
