Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Kyocera CP-20 RD Perfect Peeler, RedCustomer Review: Very nice blade, but BROKE EASILLY, and no potato eye remover Summary: 3 Stars
Very nice blade, but BROKE EASILLY, and no potato eye remover..
I had mine maybe a year or more... Never dropped, never abused in any way.. One day I picked it up and the cutter fell off..
I always thought this was the best peeler I ever owned, and wondered THE HELL WHY THERE WAS NO POTATO EYE REMOVER??? Which is probably a prime time thing to have on a device such as this.. I gave it 3 stars rather than 1 because it is so nice in so many ways (red is easy to find, multi positions make it so you can pick your favorite, very nice peeling blades).. But easy to break, and no eye remover are kind of biggies..
Customer Review: LOVE IT!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I received one of these peelers from my mom as a gift and when my daughter was helping me peel carrots, she accidentally broke it! Ah! I was so bummed. I immediately went online to Amazon and purchased TWO so I would never be without my favorite kitchen tool. :) It is very sharp, the head is adjustable (so it works if you are right or left-handed) and it can zip through peeling a potato (my LEAST favorite job) in no time. I love this product. Thanks, Mom, for the peeler and thanks to Amazon for shipping everything so fast!
Customer Review: Ceramic Peeler Summary: 5 Stars
I do love this peeler. It seems like such a small thing, almost insignificant in your kitchen, until you're peeling a ton of apples for pie, or 5# of potatoes for Thanksgiving dinner. The blade on this item is nice and sharp and really glides across whatever you're peeling. Plus the head pivots to 3 different positions to accommodate how you prefer to hold a peeler. I gave one of these as a gift to my sister who has arthritic hands and, although she doesn't cook a lot any more, she does like having this great little tool.
Customer Review: Great design but fatal oversight in construction. Summary: 2 Stars
After less than a dozen uses, it broke and is now useless. If you look at the image of the product, you can see how the blades are housed in the black rotating frame. The problem is, the black frame is held in the red brace by tiny black plastic protrusions on both sides. Minimal pressure can make one of these snap clean off, as it did with me. Now it is worthless. Great idea, poor execution. Wait until they make a new version with metal protrusions.
Customer Review: Best peeler every, but be careful!! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the sharpest, easiest peeler I've ever used. I love it! BUT you must be VERY careful when using it because it is extraordinarily sharp! I bought kevlar gloves to use with the kyocera mandolin (which is great too) and I'd definitely recommend getting some. I haven't cut myself before using either of these but I've read about a bunch of people who have and just wearing the gloves gives me the peace of mind of knowing my fingers are safe!
