Customer Review: Absolutely the WORST

I have been baking spritz cookies since I was 12. I am now 52. This is without a doubt the worst cookie press I have ever used. My last press,also plastic, lasted 6 years and I knew it had to be replaced when it became painful to press out the dough. This was painful from minute one. The directions say one click for a cookie. Well, sometimes it took two clicks, sometimes three sometimes only half a cookie would fall out. The amount of pressure it took to even do one cookie was unbelievable often with little pop noises from the release lever. I thought the damn thing was going to blow apart. I have used the same Martha Stewart spritz cookie recipe for 28 years-it wasn't the problem. My pans were the same good quality half sheets I always use-not the problem. I even refrigerated the sheet pans(which I've never done in all my years of baking) according to their directions after having trouble-no dice. I have never had to scoop such an amount of half formed or malformed cookies in my life. Because I bake huge quantities of various cookies for Christmas, I had ingredients for 3 batches assembled and ready to go. Three batches took me 6 hours, most of the time painstakingly reassembling the sad little blops that I could get out of this thing. My hand is so sore from pressing, I had to stop baking until tomorrow.
I read a lot of reviews on Amazon before I bought this and this seemed to be highly rated. I assume I got a reject because there was nothing pleasant about using this press. My last press was red and white with an opaque barrel. if I could remember the make I'd buy another one in a heartbeat. I wouldn't even give this flaming piece of junk away. Awful product.
