Customer Review: Paring down the paring knife.

Great price on this product. The colors are cool and the addition of the blade guard puts this knife way ahead of other knives in this price point.
I use this knife all the time, leaving my forged Henckels paring knife (that has a bolster!) in the block. The knife is easily sharpened and the high carbon steel takes and holds a great edge.
I had two issues with my particular purchase, but due to the price I have come to overlook them.
The first is that the blade on my knife arrived actually curved. If looking at the back of the knife from the spine, the blade itself is slightly curved to the left - not perfectly straight. A nitpick, since this does not really affect the performance of the blade when paring produce.
Secondly, the point of my knife actually protrudes out of the blade guard - which for some reason was molded with a small hole in it, allowing the extreme point to stick out. It pokes out just enough that it could cut a finger or the inside of a bag it's being transported in. I have to make sure the blade guard is not pushed all the way down against the handle.
For the $10 I spent, I decided I could live with the minor problems. This knife sees regular use and I have recommended it to several friends.
