Customer Review: This is a real precision kitchen tongs

This is definitely a precision kitchen tool when compared to the Oxo Good Grips Precision Tongs. These are tweezers only they are VERY BIG tweezers made in Germany. I think I've seen these things in a medical supply store where you can buy hemostats and other surgical instruments. Only, that stuff is usually made in Pakistan (and maybe the PRC by now). And even then, I think the price of these kitchen tweezers is comparable to a similar surgical instrument. These tweezer tongs have ridges in both pincher ends to help grip stuff and to keep the food or whatever from slipping out. The Kuchenprofi emblem is stamped on one side of the flat hinge. These tweezers are Made in Germany.
Yes, my tweezers also do not touch together at the tip when I close them. But for use in the kitchen, the fact they do not touch completely has not caused me problems in the kitchen. I do not expect to use these tweezers to remove a splinter from my fingers where precision is needed. I can see that for something made in Germany, manufacturing the tips so they will close completely shouldn't be too much to ask.
PROS:
These are reasonably priced precision kitchen tweezer tongs.
These stainless steel tongs are dishwasher safe.
Something not made in China.
CONS:
The very tips of the tweezers do not meet or touch.
