Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Krups F2307051 Egg Cooker, WhiteCustomer Review: It cooks hard boiled eggs Summary: 1 Stars
As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for".
This Krups Egg Express cooker is cheap, cheap, cheap. It gets one star because it will make hard boiled eggs.
The only thing mine does is hard boil eggs because the so-called "bell" that is supposed to signal when eggs are done does not work. I measured water according to the directions and even tried timing for soft-boiled but they still came out hard.
- there is NO AUTO-OFF! This appliance could be turned on in the morning and STILL ON when you come home from work that night(IF your house has not burned to the ground, God forbid such a thing to happen)
- THIN plastic for holding eggs. Cover is same way and so light that it actually lifts up off the egg holder (from the pressure of the water vapor if any foam is created); will easily break/crack so abnormal care is required to protect the holder and cover. You will have to keep the box to store the cooker or provide a special location in a cabinet where it cannot get damaged by something being placed on it.
- Poacher trays have NO handles/lips to grab them. Manual states to use "oven mitts" to pick-up the poacher containers. I could not do it effectively with mine - it was hilarious trying though.
- Poacher trays are plastic too and have SQUARED corners on the inside bottom, meaning cleanup is NOT fun getting egg out of the corners or you MUST USE OIL/BUTTER. Manual says to use a "nonstick spray" before using the poachers but IMO one purpose of poaching an egg is to get it cooked WITHOUT using grease/oil(among other things like consistency, etc.).
- The poacher makes the weirdest/ugliest looking poached eggs I have ever seen - LOTS of air holes/pockets in the white. Of course that c/b partially my fault because I used a spray oil(maybe too much...).
Although the Amazon ad does not state any "non-stick" surfaces, I was relatively sure the poacher trays would be, at least, smooth curves on the inside corners. The poaching trays provide a strange, squared-edge, oval shaped, thin but LARGE cooked egg. They are about the size & shape of a slice of french bread which would make for a good egg sandwich if you have french bread to use. And, since they are so UGLY, the only real good use is to make an egg sandwich.
--- You cannot set the timer on "keep warm" and have it cook the eggs and then switch to the warming function, meaning you need to be actively involved; might as well just cook the old fashioned way.
The little, darker colored ring you see around the unit is not decorative. It is the heating tray! I (almost) burned my fingers trying to move the Krups Egg Cooker. If the tips of my fingers were not calloused there would be blisters!
Finally, as a word of general caution which is not mentioned in the manual, make sure to clean the needle used to pierce the egg shells after each use. Research shows that most salmonella bacteria live on the OUTSIDE of the egg - on the shell. You do not want it to grow on the needle until the next time you use it.

Buying this is a probably going to be a waste of your time unless you only want hard boiled eggs (or maybe a cold egg sandwich). I returned mine for the defective alarm (rather than replace it). I'll have to find another...
Description of Krups F2307051 Egg Cooker, WhiteQuickly boil up to 7 eggs (soft, medium, or hard) or poach up to 2 eggs. Signal indicates end of cooking cycle. Lid and egg holder are dishwasher safe for quick clean up. Dual switch for boiling and keep warm setting. Removable egg holder facilitates cool This cooker boils up to seven eggs at one time or poaches one or two eggs in trays. You can use the calibrated water-level indicator to pour the precise amount of water needed to soft-, medium-, or hard-boil one to seven eggs. The indicator (a tube) has a steel pin in the bottom for piercing eggshells; this will leech out the sulfur so yolks remain yellow during cooking rather than turning green. Assuming the proper amount of water is in the egg holder, the timer will ensure the eggs are cooked to the desired level, and then indicates with a light and bell when the hard-boiling is completed. You can then set the timer switch to keep the eggs warm. The plastic egg holder is removable, letting you cool the eggs under running water. Everything cleans easily, including the nonstick coating on top of the boiling plate. The cooker measures 9-1/8 inches wide and 5-1/4 inches high. --Fred Brack
