I'm sure this is a great unit but, unfortunately for me, this unit didn't work in my particular environment. I was using a handheld police radar unit. Approximately five minutes of being plugged into this unit, it managed to fry the power supply board and digital readout board. It cost me just under $275.00 to have the radar unit repaired. If you are considering the purchase of a cooler, also consider buying the 120v adapter as well. It can be used to "pre-cool" the cooler/contents before your road trip. Then take the cooler/adapter along with you in your motel room for the night-Koolatron does not recommend leaving the cooler running off the car battery for more than 4 hours if the car is not running.Customer Review: not satisfied with this product

This power converter heats up unsafely in my estimation. I contacted the Customer service and they needed me to send back the unit at my expense before they would consider sending me a replacement. That is unacceptable and costly. This company needs to remember that the customer should come first. I recommend you don't do buisiness with them.Customer Review: Koolatron AC adapter

This is an excellent product to be used with the Koolatron P25 cooler chest. I ruined one chest by using a different adapter (my mistake!). Together, the way they should be, they work fine.
Koolatron was willing to sell and ship a new chest lid (with cooling mechanism)to me. I highly recommend the company and product!

To me, this is a very necessary product as I stock up my cooler to the lid with cold food. I use it on AC for 24 hours prior to a trip. This way the cooler is not playing catch up as its warm and the food is cold. Makes the cooler work much better. See my review on the cooler itself.
