Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Kness Mfg 102-0-019 Snap-E Mouse Trap

Customer Review: Works!!
Summary: 5 Stars

After reading through all the reviews concerning this product I decided to give them a try, plus at the cost what did I have to lose. We recently moved to the "country" and along with the ambiance came a large mouse population. When I received the package I immediately set a trap up next to the existing Victor trap. Within a few hours we had the first victim. (The Victor trap had been untouched for days.) The Snap-E traps are easy to bait and set. The mouse is easily released, without touching the creature, and the trap is ready to use again. Actually the mouse never got a chance to sample the peanut butter that was in the trap. I would recommend this product to everyone!

I tried to purchase this product through Amazon but due to a glitch concerning the shipping charges, per item, wound up purchasing the Snap-E Mouse Traps from the seller. (After contacting Amazon and being directed to do so).

Customer Review: Gets the mouse, most of the time
Summary: 4 Stars

This wonderful contraption has four features that I love: 1) It's incredibly easy to set, and unlike many, more expensive traps, the catch mechanism doesn't seem to wear out. I've lost count of the number of other traps I've had to throw out because the catch stopped working. 2) It's easy to unload the mouse without having to touch anything that touched the animal. 3) In seems to get the mouse's head or neck full-on, appearing to kill the mouse quickly. With other traps I've seen them caught just by their noses and I imagine that their demise was likely slow and painful. I don't want that. And last 4) they're cheap! I paid $1.99 here at Amazon which makes it possible to get bunches of 'em to place in and out around the house.

The only reason I gave it four instead of five stars is because sometimes the traps go off and the mouse escapes entirely, but this is the exception, not the rule.

Customer Review: Great improvements to classic mouse trap design
Summary: 5 Stars

Great product. The key to why this mouse trap works is the bait cup. While other mouse trap designs allow for the bait to be knocked off the trap's platform, the small cup requires that the rodents climb onto the device to get the bait. This small but clever change to a classic design makes the trap far more reliable. The trap is sensitive, so put it into place before setting the trap.

I also like that the device's parts are durable & washable. A simple cleaning allows for multiple uses - something I would not suggest with wooden platform devices.

For bait I've used peanuts (one peanut fits nicely into the cup) or a small dab of peanut butter. The bait cup makes it easy to place bait into the cup BEFORE the trap is set, so you are less likely to snag your finger.

Simple to set, reliable, simple to release, and reusable if desired.

Customer Review: say good bye to victor
Summary: 5 Stars

You might ask why I say good bye to Victor, however Victor is the name of the wooden mouse traps that you would most likely find in any store. I have used them for years and they 'seemed' effective enough. Sure, you had to rebait them several time before you caught one, but that's the way it goes right? Not with the Snap-E trap. Mouse number 14 was caught today. I'm not sure where all my mice come from, but I know where they die. This trap is absolutely golden. The pressure plate trigger idea works just like it should. The bent bar device used to snap and reload the trap is the best idea I have ever seen. I now look forward to checking the mouse traps because it is so easy to dispose of the mouse (you never have to touch it) and easy to reset the trap (no more snapped fingers) A better mouse trap has been built and Snap-E trap is the name.

Customer Review: I Love these
Summary: 5 Stars

I live in a 100 year old farm house and no matter how sealed up we think we have the house those clever little furry, cute as can be creatures still find a way in. They gnaw through wood...they scritch through the dry wall and drop out of the ceiling....God love em....and it is always such a delightful treat to find that they have been visiting in the dish towel or silverware drawer. I am a peace loving, critter repspecting sort but enough is enough. I bought 10 of these little babies and they have been snapping like crazy. These traps are sturdy, easy to bait, very easy to set and they have a heck of a snap!! The part I like the most....it is easy to dump the little darings once they've had their last nibble at the cheese bar. If you've been using traps that you're frustrated with or don't work....toss em and try some of these.
