Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Kness Mfg 102-0-019 Snap-E Mouse TrapCustomer Review: Great, but just a tad bit inhumaine Summary: 5 Stars
I have to say these work great. I set up 2 of them with a peanut in each. Within an hour and a half, I heard a loud snap, and I had one dead one. The next morning, the other trap had a dead one in it. I did notice that the first mouse had managed to pick the peanut off the first trap without setting it off, but the second one got him. I have an ant problem also, so I figured I would just be feeding the ants if I put out peanut butter.
One thing I noticed... these traps seem to be just a tiny bit inhumaine. The large yellow bar (which the traps says will not hurt as bad if it catches your finger) isn't quite as effective as a standard metal bar. A thinner bar exerts more pressure in one spot, snapping their spine instantly and killing them instantly. This wider bar will actually kill the mouse by strangulation. Granted, I have fairly large mice, which may be some of it. The first mouse it got was twitching and flopping around for about 15 seconds before dying. I don't enjoy killing them, but I think this is just part of dealing with a pest. This is still far more humaine than poison or glue boards. I think it is still worth the payoff of being more effective than other traps.
Customer Review: Snap-E Mouse Traps ROCK Summary: 5 Stars
Even my four year old can set these babies. And when she barely touched the paddle with a chopstick, KABAM! Broke it in two and sent my 7 year old into a hysteric sobbing fit. Awesome. I've had 8 Tom Cat brand traps set in the kitchen (have you seen the movie Mouse Hunt?) for a week, and every morning the peanut butter from the paddle of each trap has been meticulously licked clean, and the mouse is back in his little hole dreaming of the peanut butter he'll be eating the next night. This morning felt different, however. My 4 year old and I set one of the Snap-E Mouse Traps last night, with a dab of peanut butter and a piece of animal cookie (unfrosted) on top. It was like Christmas morning when she and I checked it this morning and found the stiff corpse. "Yes!" I heard her whisper. And when my 10 year old nearly threw up when I showed it to him, my 12 year old rolled her eyes when I told her I'd made mouse sandwiches for their school lunches, and my wife responded, "Gross!" when I suggested we wash the bloody trap in the dishwasher, I knew I had achieved ultimate success.
Customer Review: This trap's a snap Summary: 5 Stars
Apologies to all my friends
who love their rats and mice
I had a critter in my house
that wasn't cute or nice
All day he'd nap, but as night fell
he'd venture out to snack
He loved my chocolates, and my bread
and Pringles by the stack
The straw that broke the camel's back
was when he chewed a hole
right through my bag of garlic toast
and all the garlic stole
I tried a sturdy wooden trap
he laughed and took my cheese
I set a bunch of sticky ones
he passed them by with ease
And then I came to Amazon
(there's so much that they sell)
I found this cheap and simple trap
that works so very well
The bait goes in the little hole
and then just set the trap
Relax and have a glass of wine
And wait to hear the snap
The final step's the easiest
Just lift the latch and dump
You'll never, ever touch again
a mouse's furry rump

Customer Review: "Someone should get an award..." Summary: 5 Stars
I think it's kind of hilarious that I have been buying from Amazon for years and my first-ever review is about a mouse trap! But we are so pleased with this mouse trap that I am inspired to write a review.
We apparently have had some of those mice on IQ boosters that another reviewer talked about. These mice have been coming to our back room for several weeks and we have been trying to catch them with standard mouse traps. They would clean off the trap and never get caught. So essentially we were just feeding them peanut butter. No wonder they kept coming back. We were also using sticky traps from a pest-control company, which the mice totally ignored.
I told my husband we needed to get a better mouse trap, but he said, "A mouse trap is a mouse trap." I found this mouse trap on Amazon and ordered two. We have used them two nights. Two nights, two mouse traps, four mice caught! My husband has changed his view from "A mouse trap is a mouse trap" to "Someone should get an award for inventing this mouse trap."
Customer Review: This Really Is the Better Mousetrap Summary: 5 Stars
For years my family has relied upon the original old-fashioned wooden mousetraps to catch any mice that might be roaming around. Recently, it seems that the mice are becoming smarter because they eat the cheese & peanut butter clean off the trap without setting them off. After this happened a few times, I decided to try to find a better mousetrap and came across this SNAP-E MOUSE TRAP.
The trap works on exactly the same principles as the old wooden traps. You place the bait in the middle of the trap and pull the spring back to set it. The difference is that the trap has an incredibly strong spring. Because of this, the trap is made of a sturdy plastic.
These traps are incredible! There's no chance of the vermin licking the trap clean because the trap is very sensitive. Also, with the powerful spring on the trap, they are killed instantly.
I have tried using other types of traps before, but these SNAP-E MOUSE TRAPS are by far the best mousetraps to catch & kill a mouse with. Highly recommended.
