Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Kitrics Digital Refrigerator ThermometerCustomer Review: A good solution to a common problem Summary: 4 Stars
Most refrigerators and freezers let you adjust the temperature on an arbitrary scale of 1-9 or the like. Not much help when you want to make sure your food is being stored under ideal conditions.
This simple little digital thermometer does exactly what is needed: it reports on the minimum, maximum, and current temperature of the space you put it in. There are no directions, but it's simple enough to figure out that you ought to hit Reset when the temperature is somewhere between the minimum and the maximum. It is a trivial annoyance that Reset also resets to reading in Celsius.
It works, and at a reasonable price.
Customer Review: No quality control Summary: 1 Stars
I ordered two of these thermometers mainly because they (theoretically) had accuracy to the tenth of a degree and they would register min/max temperatures. Neither one worked when I received them! It's hard to believe that Kitrics could ship two products that do not function whatsoever.
Customer Review: Seems Accurate, when it's working Summary: 2 Stars
The battery holder (not the plastic door, but the metal part that also serves to conduct electricity) is a bit flimsey. This results in frequent power-off conditions.
I keep fiddling around with it, but it's annoying. See if you can find a different one for 6 or 7 bucks...
