I have a refrigerator that has a simple cold --> colder dial in it, but no temperature ranges. I purchased this to both set the fridge and to see how much of a swing there is in the internal temperature.
I read the last reviewers comment about the battery connection. I admit it does seem loose. But, there is an easy fix. 1. Remove the batter. 2. Gently press down on the top connection that sticks out. You only want to bend this down by about a millimeter or so. DONT PUSH TO HARD. 3. Replace the battery You should be good now.
==Pros==
* Nice simple look. I don't feel embarrassed if people see this in my fridge.
* Works as advertised, min and max readout is nice.
* Comes with velcro to attach it. I just set it on the shelf though, no need for the velcro.
==Cons==
* Battery issue. But that is easily fixable.
* When you hit reset it always goes back to C.
* In the freezer the readout is a bit slow. I think this is a problem with any LCD screen, so I doubt anything with LCD would be better. Maybe an LED system would, but it would likely eat more power.
In the end, I think this is a great little device. And you can use it to check the temperature anywhere in your house.
