I just received my first KitchenAid Stand Mixer (4.5qt in red) on my birthday in late November 2010.
If you have seen Lord of the Rings, I am Gollum and my mixer is 'Precious'. :} In light of this, I wanted to ensure Precious stays as blemish free as possible. She is too pretty to be marked up sitting on my counter.
I priced this at Amazon (in red) first for about $25, then priced it in person at Kohl's for about $35. During Black Friday week the red one dropped to $17 so I nabbed it! I was ready to pay the $25 but it was a nice surprise to see such a great dip in price - TY Amazon.
I received this in 2 days from Amazon and it is even nicer then the pic shows. For my 4.5qt Mixer it fit with room to spare, meaning a 6qt would fit it too. It is a substantial material that doesn't feel cheap. It covers the mixer entirely and lightly sweeps the counter top at the bottom. The pockets are nice and deep and I could store my included attachments but I like to leave them inside in the bowl.
Now I don't have to worry about anyone accidentally bumping or brushing up against 'Precious' and marking her. She is definitely well protected. :)
