Customer Review: engineering could be better

While upon first glance this peeler looks of quality and to a degree, feels of quality and while it does a fine, if not better job at peeling...upon close inspection one would doubt the durability and longevity of this peeler.To explain, the blade freely pivots between the plastic arm in 2 small holes at each end of the arm. Nothing more holding the blade in place. What should happen if this peeler developes a fraction near these holes or if the arm itself breaks? You got it, a peeler forever rendered useless. KitcheAid could easily remedy this and why they didn't bother, considering their name and general good quality of products, is beyond me.
I have also taken note that the blade on the lower end, due to it's pivoting within the plastic hole has caused some chaffing.
It would be nice to also see KitchenAid change to "soft grips" as this would also give it longevity [wear-wise] and give added comfort to the user as apposed to the hard plastic that they have chosen.
While this will not prevent me from purchasing from KitchenAid again (for the most part, I like KitchenAid) I intend to inspect more closely, in the future, their products rather than basing my purchase hastily on first appearances or their [usually] good name.
KitchenAid produces some fine kitchenware albeit. However, with this product they have fallen short.
