I purchased these tongs in May 2007 and have been using them constantly since then. In particular I bought them for bacon, and I have experienced no problems whatsoever with them picking up and holding onto bacon, or anything else for that matter. They are heat resistant to a fairly high degree, although I have never rested them on a hot pan for any period of time. They have been through the dishwasher countless number of times and come out looking brand new. The price in 2 and a half years is the same, $7.99, as it was in May 2007. I bought mine with other new utensils for my kitchen so that I could take advantage of the 4 for 3 promotion as well as the super saver shipping, which Amazon is still offering. I recommend this utensil.
