Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid KSB5PK4 Komen Foundation, 5-Speed Blender, PinkCustomer Review: it's okay Summary: 3 Stars
i had an old 1970's burnt orange waring that rocked, but it was killed by a cherry pit in my smoothie. i bought the kitchenaid blender to go with my mixer, because the mixers are so great. sadly, the blender is not great. i like the wide and squat blender container, but the motor is not very powerful. when i am making my smoothies, there are always whole berries or other fruit chunks that won't blend. i did not have this problem with my $7.00 thrift store blender, and i miss the power. i am also sad that i paid over 10x the amount for something that doesn't even do the job. i probably would not ever buy a kitchenaid blender again, although the pink color is pretty cool.
Customer Review: 18 months to failure Summary: 1 Stars
We have owned one of these for 18 months. It has never done a great job of blending our fruit smoothies, but my wife wanted it to match the other KA appliances. Yesterday it failed, while trying to chop up some frozen strawberriies & OJ. I removed the jar & saw that the teeth on the drive coupling had broken off. Take a good look at the drive coupling. Its made of a hard rubber. This is going to be a failure point if you buy this blender.
I would recommend loooking at another brand.
Customer Review: does it all! Summary: 5 Stars
this blender does it all. I've used it for smoothies, crushing ice, pureeing fruit, whipping up fresh pesto...and everytime it performs perfectly. I've found that I don't need to get the food processer, as I can do everything I need to between this blender and the stand mixer. it's solid, it's cute, and easy to clean.
