This is a replacement for my Kitchen Aid Mixer that I purchased thirty some years ago! This new one has a larger bowl which is what I needed. I loved my old Kitchen Aid Mixer! I did notice that the knob to move the speed is not as good quality as that of my old one. The bowl itself is larger, but doesn't seem as good quality as the old bowl. I find that it's slow to start when I move the speed knob. It's also noiser which is understandable since it's a heavier model. For more than a year, I have been used Breadman bread machine to knead dough twice a week. It's still working but I was thinking to have a stand mixer for more baking task for while.
I bought KitchAid professional 600 Series just before Christmas. The first dough was kneat perfectly in two minutes. However, one week later, I wanted to make two doughs, 3 or 4 cups each. The machine broke and quit at the second dough.
Now, I need to go back to my old bread machine for bread dough.

I've made plenty of whole whet bread--even four loaves at a time--and I can tell my mixer is working hard but it never ever gave me any trouble or stopped working. This mixer is fantastic. I can triple the nestle chocolate chip cookie recipe and it mixes it up just fine. It is very powerful and whips up whipped cream or egg whites in no time! I've over whipped them because I've turned my back for a second. This mixer is wonderful. I can't think of one bad issue I've had with it.Customer Review: Kitchen Aid Professional Stand Mixer

This is my first stand mixer, and I absolutely love it. I wanted to get one for years, but shyed away from it for fear that I couldn't handle using it. But it is such a simple machine to use. I wish I had gotten one a lot sooner!! It is really such a snap to make my batters and frostings. I love baking and this makes my baking life so much easier. Although I'm not throwing away my hand mixer and mixing spoons,I really love this stand mixer. I highly recommend it.Customer Review: The Best Ever

I have an older Kitchen Aid mixer with not as much power. This goes through big batches of bread dough easily and without strain. It is definitely worth the extra money. There was a minor scratch on the mixer, but I can live with that. Just thought that Kitchen Aid should be a little more careful in their QC inspectins before putting in the box. The scratch is hard to see and blends in with the paint, so no big deal.
