Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of KitchenAid KMCC1KB Stand Mixer Cloth Cover, Khaki with Black TrimCustomer Review: KitchenAid Appliance Cover for Dummies 101 Summary: 5 Stars
I was just reviewing a favorite product of mine and thought I would breeze over to rate this cover because I didn't like the way it fit. Or, maybe I bought one for a model that wasn't supposed to fit my mixer. I excitedly opened my package as soon as it arrived. Excited because the Post Office, not Amazon, lost (or stole) my package. (I know that thanks to Amazon's handy package tracking link! :) The Post Office said I had to wait 10 days longer to report my overdue pkg. which I knew from past experiences, would never arrive. I e-mailed Amazon to let them know. Would you believe they sent ANOTHER one out immediately?! As usual, it came sooner than expected! Anyway, I put it on, and it didn't fit very well, but it was very well made in a thick, denim-like, quilted, quality fabric. (should withstand repeated washings well, doesn't look cheap) and I planned to keep it anyway. I just looked at the picture and realized the POCKET GOES ON THE SIDE, NOT THE FRONT. Why didn't I think to try that? I assumed for some stupid reason that the pocket went on the front, which is why my husband says, never assume; it makes an A.. out of U and ME, which is how I felt!
It also fits the 12 c. KitchenAid food processor
Customer Review: Kitchenaid Mixer Cover-useful accessory Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the Khaki KitchenAid stand mixer cover for my Artisan mixer. I kept my old mixer in the pantry, but the KitchenAid is so heavy I will keep it on the counter for easier use. The cover was needed for that reason. I like the pocket on the side to put my beater blades and mixer book in. I bought the Metro Design Beater Blade from Amazon as well, which is a great attachment that scrapes the bowl as you mix. It fits in the pocket with the original beater blade. The Artisan came with a 5 quart bowl, and I also bought a 3 quart bowl for smaller jobs. The 3 quart bowl fits on top of the 5 quart bowl (with the whip and hook inside & shield on it)...so all my attachments are in one place under the nice Khakhi cover. The cover is quilted, fits well and stands up nicely over everything. The cover would only be better if it had another outside pocket on the other side. I haven't washed it yet, but hope it will perform well there too.
Customer Review: Mixer Cover helps clean up counter clutter Summary: 4 Stars
I still think this cover costs too much for a piece of cloth.
But it was slightly on sale when I bought it, which eased the pain a bit.
Now that I have it, I do like it a lot.
Due to the size and weight of the mixer, it sits on the counter instead of being put away into a cabinet.
I keep my beaters and some accessories in the mixer bowl that stays with the mixer.
The cover hides all that pile of 'stuff' and makes my counter look a little neater.
I was concerned about the Khaki/Black not fitting in with the kitchen colors, but it looks fine. I WOULD have preferred a different trim color than black, but that was the only one on sale.
Customer Review: A must have if you have house pets! Summary: 5 Stars
Honestly, I had mixed feelings about even buying a cover. My new Kitchenaid stand mixer is so pretty sitting on the counter. It's the best looking part of my kitchen! But after reading a couple of other reviews, I decided a cover would be the way to go since I have a house cat. Being covered, my mixer is always clean and ready to go when I am without worry of pet hair or dander of any kind! Who wants to wash something before they can even use it? Not me! So go ahead and get one. You will not regret it... And, you can always pull it off and hide it if you're having company and want to display the stunning eye catcher that your stand mixer is!
Customer Review: Fit depends on mixer model Summary: 3 Stars
The product is well made and obviously nice if you want a red touch, but I was not quite impressed with the fit around my mixer. In my opinion it is a tad too big, sadly making the whole thing look like a baggy tent instead of a tight-fitting works cover.
If you have one of the bigger sized KitchenAid bowl-lift mixers (instead of the tilt-head like my Artisan model), it will probably fit like a charm though - the same cover was indeed designed for both machines.
It obviously works for keeping the dust out though - I just wished it looked as good around the popular Artisan series as it does on the pictures.
