I haven't had this mixer very long and have only used it twice, but the cookie dough I mixed was quite dense and the motor didn't seem strained at all. I especially like the pushbutton feature that allows for definite gradual changes in speed so whatever you're mixing isn't suddenly flying wildly around the kitchen when ratcheting up to a higher speed.

Use the Kitchen Aid Professional 9-Speed Hand Mixer to quickly mix cakes and whip. With nine digitally displayed speeds, you have plenty of options to accommodate most mixtures. Three slow speeds let you gradually pick up the pace to keep flour and liquids from flying out of the bowl, while the higher speeds let you quickly whip cream and egg whites. Kitchen Aid's nifty digital control switch gives you a flat, integrated panel to work with for easy cleanup and no cracks and crevices to gather gunk.
KitchenAid beaters are designed without a center post to cut smoothly through mixtures and prevent stuff from getting caught in the wires. This model also includes the Pro Whisk attachment to effectively incorporate air into whipped mixtures in no time. Though the motor is heavy-duty enough for even cookie dough, the hand mixer is relatively lightweight for comfortable use.
