This item was recommended by my daughter-in-law. What a gem! Excellent hand blender! Powerful motor and blade. Easy to clean. Works like a dream on pureeing soups, making smoothies, chopping nuts, whipping cream, making meringue, makes deliciously fluffy omelettes. I was afraid it would be too heavy but it's not. The storage sack is very handy. A great bonus in keeping all the attachments in one place. Amazon's price is the best all around. I wish I'd purchased it years ago. Pureeing the butternut squash soup and the sweet potato souffle this Thanksgiving will be a breeze!Customer Review: chop and blend

I was surprised at the power of the motor and ease of use. The variable speed gave just the right control for different functions and accessories. In the first cooking session, The blender stick easily blended a large pot of still warm carrot soup. The chopper quickly turned a small piece of chuck roast and onion into a great tasting fresh burger. Then a quick rinse of the stick for use in the supplied container to blended coco powder, milk, and sweeter to make a mix for hot chocolate. Finally quick clean up in the dishwasher. Finally I have a gadget that I can pull out, hook up and plug in in about 15 seconds. I find myself using this for EVERYTHING from whizzing up home made dressings, dips, sauces, chopping vegetables, making salsas, butters, and spreads. I LOVE THIS THING! It's powerful, easy to clean and easy to handle. I find myself pulling out my full size food processor very rarely anymore and only for the big jobs. This is a wonderful kitchen tool, with power and convenient way to store in it's hang up bag. It's my right hand now in the kitchen.Customer Review: Great immersion blender

This is the third immersion blender I have owned and leave it to KitchenAid to do a fine job producing a great product. This same immersion blender is available without the accessory pieces, but it is worth it to get them all at once - with the added bonus of the storage tote! The food chopper attachment is perfect for chopping nuts, grinding crackers, grating cheese, etc. My only complaint would be that the bottom, no-slip disk is not actually attached, it is a separate piece. Every morning starts with two protein shakes for two different sets of taste buds. Our KitchenAid hand blender allows my husband and I to very quickly create our shakes one right after the other. The mixing container is just the right size and clean up between shakes is a breeze. The blender handles ice cubes, or jumbo frozen strawberries with ease. I've started using the hand blender and accesories for just about everything! Gaucamole, pesto, salsa, whip cream...My blender and food processor are gathering dust.
